Toia was born and raised in Detroit, MI. She moved to Ypsilanti to pursue her passion of advocacy and to obtain her undergraduate degree in social work from Eastern Michigan University. As an advocate for people whose voices cannot be heard the most, Toia spends her free time as an activist fighting for equality for all. Her passion for helping people started in 5th grade when she noticed that not everyone knows how to use their voice to get what they need and deserve.
